The chair's activities are structured around the real challenges facing the sector, which are identified in collaboration with the company through a continuous process of dialogue and knowledge-sharing. This approach allows to orientate the investigation and the technology transfer towards specific needs of urban water management, ensuring relevance and applicability.
Based on this shared challenges, we develop applied research projects desgined to make a tangible impact, transforming the knowledge into useful solutions for the sector. At the moment, we are working on three principal lines (water quality, consumption estimation, and preventive maintenance).
This research is conducted by a multidisciplinary team formed by researchers, with the support of graduate students new to research, research support staff, and students working on their master and degree's thesis, as well as doctroal thesis. This combination allows both scientific excellence as well as the development of new talent in the field of applied research.
This working model enforces the connection between the professional and academical world, making easier the effective transfer of results and contributing to a more efficient. sustainable and resilient urban water management.
