Subject: Urban water engineering and management

It is difficult to find professionals with deep technical knowledge (in the urban water sector, we would speak of hydraulics) who are also skilled in management. However, management decisions often require such technical knowledge. The objectives of promoting this course are:

  1. To incorporate digitalization, hydroeconomics, and governance tools into the training of engineers.
  2. To open this training to professionals in the sector.

This course will include three blocks (two Tuesday afternoons each):

- Digitalization and Control of Urban Hydraulics
- Hydroeconomics
- Governance

The coordinators are UPC professors, but they also include contributions from national and international experts in each topic. These experts may vary in each edition to keep the content dynamic. The keynote talks will be open to the general public as conferences to enrich the city of Terrassa with this knowledge.

The course schedule for the 2025 edition includes the following activities:

This course is intended for master's students (MUEI, MUESAII, and MUOR) at ESEIAAT, but also for professionals in the sector as part of continuing education. We believe that having both groups in the classroom can be very enriching.

To enroll in the course as a visiting student, the following protocol must be followed.

Pre-registration will be done via the UPC-TAIGUA Chair website by filling in the form.

Required documents include a motivation letter and proof of a university degree or enrollment in a master's program.

Admission criteria will be based on the relevance of studies and professional experience.

These same criteria will be used to award scholarships from the chair, covering 50% of the enrollment fee.

Enrollment will be processed at the ESEIAAT secretary's office (each ECTS credit costs €145, so the total enrollment fee is €435).

The timeline for the entire process is as follows:

Pre-registration: Until September 4, 2025

Notification of admission and scholarship awards: September 8, 2025

Enrollment: From September 9 to 15
